I have just purchased a Triumph TR4A (in New Zealand) the steering wheel is original however I'm 6ft 3" and its a bit of a tight squeeze smile,
the current wheel is 15" dia, a 12" would be great,
any suggestions / advice on a make/model worthy of a TR4? without doing a disservice to the car!
thanks

Momo Prototipo is a classic, beautiful wheel. But it's 13 3/4"

Not much around that's smaller and would look appropriate.

Be careful, it'll make the steering heavy. An inch or two makes a surprising difference, when my Sunbeam was running slightly wider tyres I fitted a larger wheel to aid parking.

1. That's what she said.
2. I'd agree that jumping all the way down to 12" might need bodybuilder arms to turn the wheel - I don't think the TR4 ever came with power steering? Dropping to either a 15" or maybe 14" is likely to be a safer bet. A little extra room for the legs without needing to spend more time lifting weights than driving the car.

If a smaller wheel does make steering heavy, then fitting electric power steering will help.

Various small cars can be the donor, eg Punto, or kits are available, eg: http://www.ezpowersteering.nl/25/170/EZ_ELECTRIC_P...

Instead of a smaller wheel, bring it further out towards you.
