Hi,

I'm pricing up using a Spitfire for my next hilclimb and calssic rally car but I can't find an off the shelf roll over protection supplier. This needs to be an MSA spec, not a road one.

Safety Devices, for example, onlt sell an "Aero Bar" which wouldn't pass scrtineering.

Anyone know of a supplier?

Thanks

Protection & Performance in Barnoldswick will make you a bespoke cage, for a reasonable price, IMHO.

But have you spoken to Safety Devices? Their "AeroBar" is more popular, so that's what they advertise, but they can't sell that many these days, so will make you one rather than supply from stock. They will know very well that a diagonal is essential for competition, and if you ask for an FIA version, that's what they will build.

You also need to put a decent reinforcement in, particularly to the rear wheelarch if you want the bar to be effective. My car was badly damaged in a rear end collision which completely detached the heavily reinforced rear wheelarch from the body. The interior photos below show a subsequent rebuild with better reinforcement. I also added a crossbar to provide a location for the harness. These photo are all rather old, the bar was a Moss/Triumphtune narrow competition type with a jog in the upright which allows the soft top mechanism to function properly.
