TR Engine number.

I have a high port TR engine stamped TS 60129 E. The head is stamped 302137, although the 137 bit is very difficult to read. Could anybody help with ID. I assume it's a TR3, not sure about date or what the 'E' means. Many thanks.

It's almost certainly a late 1959 engine from a TR3A. Chassis number TS56377 dates from autumn 1959 and at that time the chassis numbers were running about 500 numbers behind the engine numbers and chassis numberTS82346 was the last one produced in 1961. As for the "E" suffix I believe all TR2/3/3A engines had this suffix but I seem to remember that a re-manufactured engine was either "RE" or "R" but can't be sure which it was.
