A friend bought a v8 auto stag - the engine is from an SD1 and we believe it has a bw65 box in it.

From cold it shows nothing on the dipstick - completely dry?? is this normal?

Havent run it hot as we're not sure about the oil level in the auto box...

from moving it around the yard, at idle it jerks and stalls when put in reverse (odd?) - and it will drive forward...

Anyone shed any light on this?

This is gearbox dip stick?

But gearbox or engine,do you really need to ask this question?
If the dip shows no oil - add oil!!!

fundamentals of auto boxes :-

The oil level changes height when its warm/cold.

So the question is...when its cold does it read on the dip stick or not?
