An elderly neighbour has a Stag which has developed nervous steering. I thought he was just being old but I drove it and was more than uneasy with the way it behaved. Steering is very light and there is no self-centralising if you turn left or right. Also he says it will suddenly veer off left given a bumpy road. My thought is that Castor is at fault.
I have the basic Gunson camber gauge and it seems that Castor is only 1/4 degree both sides and camber is 1/2 degree neg on both sides. Tracking is ok, slightly toe in.
Looking underneath it has yellow polybushes on unknown age and manufacture.
My plan is to re-bush and then set up castor/camber/tracking. Am I heading in the right direction and which bushes? Supaflex seems to get the best review. Any comments most welcome.

p.s. rear subframe bushes look like they might need replacing but no obvious slop so leave that to winter when we can get the subframe properly cleaned & painted etc. He'd just like to drive his Stag again this summer rather than the Skoda.

Mick superflex offer a thicker drag strut bush which increases the castor angle making self cantering better the stag power steering is very light and over assisted also check ride height front and rear if front is higher than rear this makes situation worse
