Spitfire door gap supports.

Having recently failed it's M.O.T. Due to unforseen rotten sills i'm looking at replacing them as a learning experience, But after doing lots of research i've found out that i'll need some door supports to stop the body tub sagging. i Was wondering if anyone on this forum would happen to have some that i could rent? or possibly borrow locally? or any info on somewhere i could rent one near brighton? or would it be easier to weld in my own support bars?

Is there a local 'branch' of the TSSC near you? Lots of the local groups have tool hire schemes, or have members who would help you. I know the TSSC sell them as well, or you may be able to buy some on e-bay, and sell them on when you've finished.
