Is it purely condition? They seem to start t around 4k and go up and up. Any thoughts? Thanks.

as with many classics primarily body condition, but recently stags with the triumph v8 are starting to command higher prices than those with rv8 conversions and other engines due to originality.manuals seem to be slightly higher too as the majority were autos.

Condition Stags rot underneath so a solid one underneath is worth a lot more.
Original TV8 engine is a must to command a higher price.
A decent usable Stag would be around 5/6 k but dont expect a show car for that you would be looking at 12 to 15 k seen some even higher nearer 20k
for the best.
Cheap Stags need a lot of money spending on them.

And yes they are going up in value.

I restored one , bare metal, rebuilt and balanced engine, etc etc . No bog. Better than showroom. Cost probably about 40k 10 years ago. So yes condition is the reason. Cheaper to find an expensive one with proper provenance/service history than a cheap one as "a project"

Disagree..................re going up in value, as they seem to have gone down to previous years prices. Probably due to petrol prices?.
Agree there are good and bad out there, same as any other Marque but the trouble is fixing them, as Stag part prices can demand high figures esp TV8 enging bits.

Also you will find that tax exempt will demand more money and also the colour of the car.

I sold a very good ( not concors) White MK1 72 Stag, that had the rare red interior in for £7k and that was 5 years ago.

It has to be condition. I sold mine for £10k and a friend sold his for similar. Mine sold very easy at that money as all the dear jobs were done and it had no rot. Paint was old but looked good and chrome and interior were similarly aged. Very nice car IF you get a good one.
