Herald 150CD stroberg questions

Has anyone here stripped a 150CD Stromberg, i have removed the grub screw holding the metering needle but the needle won`t pull out, any ideas? Also the needle, seat and gasket asembly that the float arm rides on is marked 2.25. There was a carb service kit with the car and the new one has 1.5 on it. I guess i will have to refit the old one as they must be off different spec engines........Martin
