Hi,
I have a Rochdale GT with Triumph Rotoflex suspension. Yesterday it failed it M.O.T dues to one of the couplings being split.

Do you recon that it would still be good for 2,000 miles?

What danger is there in still using the car as it is?

Is it easy to replace, could I do it myself?

Could one glue it back together?

I hear that the replacemnt donoughts come in two types orginal and reproduction, the original ones are twice the price, are they worth it?

Thanks William Culbert

hi william

Dont know specifically about the Rochdale GT, but have replaced them on a vitesse. DONT drive it! Silent but deadly springs to mind-can lock up-or break up with expensive/dangerous results! Go for the original metalastic not the copies IMHO worth the extra dosh.(last longer)you wont be able to glue them either
Count 3 hr work per side (do both as if ones going they both will) bit of advice dont remove the metal retaining strap until happy all is ok (fitted and rotating-otherwise near impossible to get back in!) will prob need the spring lifter TSSC local clubs often have them to lend- i managed without but was more difficult. hope that helps
