Will these fit?

I have managed to get hold of 4 ET35 ford fitment RL7s 17" - Will these fit on my Chim? I think to back ones will be ok but aren't the fronts ET25? and if so what does everyone think about using spacers???

First question has to be how wide are the rims.

ok the wheels from rim edge to rim edge are 8"
from where the bead of the tyre would sit one side to the other they are 7"

Yep they will fit, depending on if the body sits square on the chassis , and not all do, you might get away with no clearance issues whatsoever ... might need thin spacers otherwise, guy on the Griff forum with a greeny coloured car had some of those fitted as i recall ....... Swanny ? rings a bell.

yeah his were even bigger at 18" I think - I was just concerned that the ET might be tight for the fronts...

I run ET35 on the front of mine although 7.5" wide with no issues.

they will fit fine but would be abit better with 10mm spacers on the front to make the ET25 correct for the front.

erm I only just got them and they need a total refurb and some tyres so dont wait up...

Before you spend any money on them I suggest you decide whet tyres you plan to fit. If you want to keep the same rolling diameter you will have to go lower profile. As the profile goes down the match between the rim and the tyre becomes more important. A 7inch rim will I suspect give you a fairly narrow tyre on the rear compared to standard. Look at a tyre web site, the Toyo one is quite good, it will give the acceptable and optimum fitment for each size. With plenty of torque and an already challenged amount of rear grip it is probably best to stick to the optimum fitting and at leats the origonal width of rubber on the road.

measuring the original wheels they match the width of the RL7s ie 8" rim to rim.

tyres on there now are
FRONT 205 55 ZR 15 which seems to equate to 215 45 ZR 17
REAR 225 50 ZR 16 which seems to equate to 225 40 ZR 17

You've got 7" rims.
205/45/17 & 225/45/17 on Ws.
