I'm pretty new to this TVR business, but I've noticed that a lot of the cars on sale (whether at a dealer or privately) have had quite a number of owners. I know that TVRs are frequently second or third cars, so I guess they would tend to be passed round a bit more than normal, but is it fairly normal for a 93-96 car to have had three or more owners? It doesn't seem to have much of an impact on the price being asked.

One factor to consider is the lurrrve factor Many people will buy say an S or 4 litre Chimaera and be totally bitten by the TVR bug. Having had the car for a couple of years they'll then upgrade to a bigger engined model.

Another reason may be that some cars are bought as a stop gap while new cars are built, especially when waiting lists are long or delivery is postponed (eg the Cerbera debacle - how many people waiting for Cerbies had a Griff or Chimaera in the meanwhile I wonder?).
