help/advice needed re. possible re-wiring

i have a cerbera 1997 .
this week, without warning the head light(on main beam) while driving went to parking lights. i had to quickly revert to full beam which thankfully worked. the main beam come on again and went of again..this happened several times. after reading the forum i was lead to have a look at the light switch box in the boot. there seems to be some charring/buring of the connectors...

This is common, not sure what everyone else has done, but we removed the under-specced connectors all together and wired in some more that were actually up to the job. Worth doing on alot of the control boxes, in this case, TVR used inferior parts to what should have been used.

This happened my cerb recently, My connector was in very bad shape, i ended up having to soilder a new piece of heavier cable dirctly onto the board and then cut the burnt cable back and jointed it back to the new cable using a hi current bullet connector allowing the module to still be unplugged if necessary. i will post up some pics tomorrow if you want.

That sounds pretty close to what we did, Dad said he just went for some better connectors from Maplins, larger ones, with larger wiring adapted from the units (as mentioned below.)
Pretty sure we've done the lot at the back above the fuel tank... there is atleast one more box that is woefully inadequate. Change as much as possible and avoid a headache later.
