I was fueling up in a petrol station over the weekend. 3 individuals came up and all said "nice car!" in the space of 10 minutes. Bet you don't get the same attention if you have a Porsche. I actually found that TVR's are now more exclusive than Aston Martins these days.
Much more than attention than a Porsche, there too common!I've had loads of attention in my Chim, so I can only imagine what it's like in a Tuscan. All of it good too. One memorable moment was when filling up and an older chap, who had already finished filling his car, said "I'm just going to wait until you've paid so I can hear you start it up and drive off, please give it some revs". I happily obliged and gave it full throttle out of the forecourt with him giving me the thumbs up. If I'd done that in a Porsche I would probably got a different hand gesture
Terribly childish I know.

Agreed, some how a TVR stands out from the crowd even surrounded by the exotica that infest the better parts of London I often pass through.
I got three good reactions in the space of 30 minutes just the other day.
1) Watford (not London or nice): Two young guys walking past as I sat at the lights, one says to the other "That car is sick" (I think that means they liked it?)
2) Hampstead: A middle aged but attractive lady walking with her husband, suddenly she started walking backwards & pointing at my car with a big smile, husband completely uninterested dragging her along
3) Hampstead again 3 minutes later: Older woman (and somewhat aesthetically challenging), I stop at the Zebra crossing for her and as she passes in front of me she mouths "Nice Car"
I've had a Taxi driver pull up next to me and say "I just got to tell you your car sounds amazing mate".
I've literally had small crowds gather in the South of France to oggle the car, they always seem to be saying "What is it?" then one reads the letters on the bonnet and says "Tey, Vey, Rrrr" (I think that's French for TVR?)
While its great to get the attention, sadly I only seem to attract either the wrong gender, the spoken for or the munters
Another interesting reaction is all the flash Ferrari boys seem to want to race me, in the last three months I've had a 430, a California and a 599 have a go at goading me into a street race.
The 430 came up behind me at 130 leptons on the M1, dropped a cog, and blew my brains out with the noise as he red lined it past me.
Its seems my old TVR is still a credible scalp worth taking.
I always Let them enjoy winning the battle & smile to myself knowing they have no idea my car cost over £100k less than theirs

Always had positive comments as well in both the chim and the Tuscan. That is apart from last week where I had some fat chav shout 'crap car' as I drove past. I now fully intend to sell it based on his words of wisdom and have my eye on a lovely nova complete with spoiler and underbody lighting as a replacement...

Had similar on Friday, Chav in Croxley showing off to his mates shouts out "Give ya two grand for it mate".
What a knob!
I know what you guys mean about attention... I was at a film premiere a couple of months ago and got accosted by John Travolta. Well naturally the conversation turned to cars, and when I told him what I drove, he said "Oh man, we so wanted a Chim 500 for the film, but we couldn't have lived with seeing it all shot up, so we got the Tuscan thing. The film would have been Sooo much better if we coulda used the Chim Man.." I said "I know what you mean John, but we can't have everything we want in life..." Shortly after this, Angelina Jolie sauntered over and said "Hello baby, I hear you drive a Chimaera" I told her how great she was in 'Gone in sixty seconds' and asked her to give my regards to Nick next time she sees him. She said she'd never driven a Chimaera, but would love to... I told her to F
off.. nobody drives my car. I don't think she'll be calling me anytime soon.....
off.. nobody drives my car. I don't think she'll be calling me anytime soon.....Loading the boot on my Purple Paradise Mk1 Tuscan at an Aldi in Germany and an old German Lady behind me said, "Oh what a beautiful car, what a beautiful colour". I turned round to thank her and found she was pink and purple from head to toe, including a purple rinse.
Same car park in my Chimaera. Made a baby cry when I started up. Made the mum very angry.
Same car park, just about to drive off and my mobile rings so sit there talking. Angry woman bangs on my window !?!? Think she didnt like the noise of the V8
Small accident, again in Germany. Police Officer is commenting on what a nice car I have as he was fining me €75,-. We both laughed.

The TVR (Chimaera) is popular but I get a lot more reaction to my Triumph Stag. Not sure if it is the Orange/Red colour but it does seem to be a remarkably popular car where ever I take it. The noise is good as well, but you wouldnt want to drive it too quick!
Red Chimaera - best of both worlds!

When I stopped to ask her what she had said she told me "big car, big head". I very politely told her where to get off.
