AJP8 Tuscan challenge engine ?

I've just been doing some reading about the Tuscan chalenge cars but cant find any info on the engine.

What is the difference between the AJP8 Tuscan challenge engine and a Cerbera AJP8 ?

Did / Do the chalenge engines really make 450bhp ?

Main differences are slightly different block to take the dry sump pump, dry sump pan, different cam's and different mapping. no A/C

Yeah, the block is slightly different - though no stronger due to the additional water and oil pump. Cams, throttle bodies, water rails, timing cover, ECU are different. They usually run a steel billet crank and slightly raised compression too.

I don't think many would have made 450, I've heard of a few making not too far off that - 440ish but its hard to judge, whereas the slightly raised spec will raise power output, the engine has two more pumps dragging on it so you're going to lose more power too.

Are the inlet manifolds diferent ?

The air boxes definitly are as the chalenge cars air filters stick through the bonet.

Throttle bodies are the same on both cerbera and race car. However the tuscan has a different intake arrangement.
