Hi everyone, here`s something to think about, the last 928 was the dogs danglee`s. I know it was expensive but if you took the time to live with it, you would end up a much happier chap. Does anyone have any views about what would make a grand touring TVR, rather than an a Sports Car. Is there a market for it ?

I think that there would definitly be a a market for a GT TVR, just look at the M5, Lotus Carlton, JAG XJR etc, all of these are hot-rods disguised as limos and they seem to sell allright. To my mind a GT TVR should seat 4 adults in comfort, with a reasonable boot, air-con, 0-100 in 10-11 secs, flat out at 170Mph, Have usual wacky / gorgeous interior. Finally as the limo buyer would tend to be a bit less 'focused' on the driving expierience and more concerned with if it'll de-mist, not leak water in or out and all the electric toys will still be working after 6 months. Then mabye TVR could divert some engineering effort into these areas away from the grunt and chassis areas. The upshot of this would be the lessons learnt achieving no leaks, de-misting etc would be the sports cars would then also perform in these areas. Huzzah!

Not sure a fibreglass body would fit with most people's perceptions of a luxury cruiser.

I think it's a good idea. Probably between $70-90K (£50-60K, or something like that i think) in order to keep with the tradition of producing super-badass cars for less than the competitors. The BMW M5 starts at about $70K. Has to be competitive with that. And they really need to sell it here in the US!

I thought the Cerbera S6 was supposed to fulfill that roll, which is why they fitted it with high profile tyres and the torquey S6 engine. I would hope by now that the aircon works in them, then you could actually put on the miles.

Er, I think you mean a Gordon-Keeble with a more up to date, reliable and economical engine. BMW methinks - if it's good enough for Morgan maybe we should have a go at it. Actually we could stuff one in a Tuscan (but that's another thread)
