Saab - "my other car is a TVR"

saw this fab sticker discretely placed in the rear window of a Slaab 95 Diesel Estate - today on the M69 leicester bound - did make me chuckle.

Never seen one of them before (the sticker not the car)

well I was selling eco lighting and Solar systems to a company the other day when one of the girls came in and said ooooooh what a cool TVR in the car park is it yours???? ooooeeeerrrr there goes my tree huggability eco street cred.Mind you I sell lots of eco lamps to offset my carbon foot print , thats my take anyway !!!!

Spot on.

Also worth noting that it takes twice as much energy & natural resources to make a car than it will ever use in it's life time.

If you can keep a car running past 13 years and don't buy a brand new one your old banger actually starts to become positive contribution to saving the planet (even if it drinks fuel like Tivs do).

If I get accosted by a dolphin huger over running the TVR, I always share this little gem with them.

Another little known fact is that Prius is one of the worst carbon footprint offenders, largely because of the battery.

The lithium gets mined in Bolivia, then shipped to China where they process it into the raw plates.

The Chinese then chuck all the nasty biproducts in the river Yangtze because no one there gives a toss about dolphins or global warming, they just want a nice flat screen TV and a car like all us western burger munchers have.

From here the plates get shipped to Canada where the battery is constructed, the finished unit gets shipped to Japan where Toyota install it in the car.

In my case Toyota then ships the car to the Netherlands where it travels by train to Belgium for some strange reason, the Belgians then ship the car to the UK where Toyota UK further distribute to their dealer network.

I work for a Shropshire based company so my company Prius whent up there for two days, before they turned it back south again to deliver it to me in Watford.

How eco friendly is all that?

There may be enough enthusiasts out there to warrant "My other cars are TVRs" or for the guy who only has plastics "My other cars are TVRs as well".

the TVR bit was in a font resembling the bonnet badge - you know what I mean!

I had one for my last daily driver - someone has an Audi A6 with it now. A PHer had some made around 6 years ago.
