Location of chassis number (VIN) on the chassis ?

Hello,

In France since 01/01/2011 the MOT tester has to read the chassis number (VIN) that is (hopefully...) cold stamped somewhere ON THE CHASSIS, not just on the chassis plate. Not found equals no MOT, equals car off road...

Please can anyone tell me where this is to be found (a) on a 1992 V8S and (b) on a 1994 Chimaera?

IIRC for both cars the VIN should be on the front-most chassis cross member - square section tube immediately behind radiator.

Hello, on my S3c I had to search a lot to find it.
It is on right side of chassis on the horizontal chassis tube just under the exhaus collector.
Its a steel plate from about 1.5 cm x 5 cm welded on the tube.
