REDLINE MT 90 GEARBOX OIL

hi all

i'm doing a post on the S forum re gearbox oil !
has anyone used redline mt 90 oil in there gearbox , this is fully synthetic oil
going in to a 20 yr old gearbox , opie oil have recommended it for much smoother gear shifting , which is what i'm looking for with my car "2nd gear"

the common spec is semi synthetic for this type 9 ford box but that advice is now 20 yrs old now
any recommendation on semi or fully synthetic in a older gearbox or problems it may cause

Look for compatibility with gearbox design. Older type (bronze) synchronizer rings can be degraded by GL-5 type oils. May be best to find a GL-4 spec oil, in that case (pun).

I've not used the MT90 but I do use the MTL in my T5 race box on Red Lines recommendation. Gearbox did a full season of racing on the same oil and the gear changes are smooth and quick. Much better than the ATF I'm "supposed" to put in. Also this is the first year the box doesn't feel as though it needs a refresh so big savings there. So, all in all I'm well impressed with it.
