Hi
Haggerty insurance have pulled out of insurance of TVRs. They failed to tell me that in writing that they didnt want to renew, or remind me that my insurance was due for renewal. Has anyone had the same experience?

Yep - most of us!

I did get a letter explaining but, to be honest, I'd heard about it long before that through here or the TVRCC.

I renewed with Manning who were great, similar price to Haggerty, lower excess and a very pleasant experience to deal with.

Similar experience - and similar to that of many other people.
Hagerty have effectively pulled out of the market - but did write to me saying so - and in good time for me to do something about it.
Sounds like they may have now assumed everyone knows about this?
And stopped sending letters.

Bit of a b*mmer all round really!
They were pretty good.

I was with Haggerty and they did write well before the renewal date to let me know that they weren't covering TVRs anymore. But then after the renewal date wrote to me to point out that I hadn't renewed and if it was an oversight to contact them to arrange continued cover...

My insurance is up for renewal with Hagerty in December. I have a '99 Ferrari 355 and a '03 VX220 Turbo. They've told me that they now will only insure cars registered before, I think, 2000 or 2001. They're happy to renew the policy on the Fezza but won't renew the VX. Hence I'm now looking around a company that will ensure both at a price that was a competitive as Hagerty. They have been very good for me over the last 4 years I've been with them. They only had £400 a year from me for my Tamora when I had it, couldn't find it cheaper elsewhere.

Me too. Don't you love it when companies are rubbish like this.....

Still, got it even cheaper with Mannings this year smile

I found Mannings were much more expensive than both A Plan and Henderson Taylor for my 2006 Tuscan. Final price from Henderson Taylor was £555.50 against £597 from A Plan and over £900 from Mannings. Henderson Taylor's excess was less than either and included Track Day cover so very pleased overall.

I paid about £494 to Mannings BUT that was to insure BOTH my TVRs (Tuscan £259 & Cerbera £235).

Same experience for me, but the difference between Henderson Taylor and all of the rest was close to £100. Paid less than last year with a reduced excess. £440 for the cerb as an every day driver.
