Seems like my (RV8) exhaust is blowing were the manifold meets the 'Y' piece
Any tips on getting a good seal?

Clean it all up and redo the clamp

In my windsurfing days, I used to see their little heads bobbing up & down off Blakeney Point in north Norfolk.
If you rent a fishing boat, a club hammer and a big keep net, that should be all you need.
You'll need to keep it wet on the way home though, so the footwell of your car should be fine.;)
