Hi guys, 2003 Cerbera,
My drivers side seatbelt wont retract back into the seatbelt holder so there is no tension on it, and the passengers seatbelt ain't that clever either. Is there a replacement or a modification that would improve it, and if there is how easy is it to do , it looks like a bit of a job to get access to the seatbelt holder as it is behind the rear panel next to the rear seats.

I think my Tuscan seatbelts were the same when I had it, Is it a case of they all do that and I will just have to live with it or is there a fix...

It could be that the part that your belt retracts into isn't horizontal. It should be free to rotate around the bearing around the bolt.

I had the same problem with my Chimaera, I used a fine adjusting tool i.e. a rubber mallet on the retracting mechanism and now it works finebiglaugh

I can't get access to the seat belt pully as it is behind some panelling and I believe the back seats might need to come out to get access to it (nightmare).

I would like to unclip the seatbelt when I stop the car and see it retract back in to the pully where as at the moment it doesn't and I run the risk of closing the door and getting it caught between the door and the sill. At the moment if I lean forward to pick something of the drivers floor etc the seatbelt loses tension and would be hopeless in an accident.

So It looks like I might need to look into removing the back seats to investigate. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue because as I said Im sure it was the same in my Tuscan 2001.

You don't need to remove the back seats to reach the inertia reel. The forward edge of that panel is just tucked under a lip of the door seal - you can prise it out enough to reach a hand in to the seatbelt and put it back without damage. The usual reason for failing to retract is drag on the belt higher up where it exits through a slot in that same panel.

Certainly worth a try, I'll give it a go tommorrow,
I had a good look tonight and the pulley does seem to retract the seat belt when I pull it out but I think it is the drag of the seat belt running on the panel and the runner type thing at the shoulder so the silicon spray sounds like a good sugestion..

Tried the Silicon spray but no joy, still very little tension on the seatbelts.

Picture below of tension when connected and pulled forward slightly, they should of course spring back under tension

How they should look below, the passengers side is the samescratchchin

Shoulder harness, this seems to slow down/stop the seatbelt retracting.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem, can someone tell me how to get the straps to roll up by themselves again?

Thank you very much for your help

Try universal seat belts, they work really well and you order any length you need. Cheap too.
