Juddering problem

I have a juddering problem with wedge 350i. I had running problems & stalling initially so tried changing the ECU, Airflow meter (that stopped the stalling) plugs, leads, Dizzycap & rotor arm & ignition module.I have also been through the usual connections more than once.
The temprature seems to change eratically too sometimes.I had the engine pressure tested in case a head gasket was leaking slightly & all appears ok (it has never boiled, but got hot last summer when the fan gave up & was replaced)the fault does not corespond with changes in the weather.
The car is just really bad in traffic & slow running, somedays its fine & runs like a train then others its almost undrivable. it is not using exessive fuel & the exhaust looks a good colour.occasionally at constant speed (eg motorway) it hiccups with what feels like a missfire.
It has been suggested it might be the cam but would it come and go in this case?
Any suggestions greatly recieved.

Engine earthing?

Either that or test the throttle pot and change the engine temperature sensor. Both can cause iffy drivability.

Thanks Ed. I have done throttle pot too. I will try all the earths & tepp sender. (are there any well hidden earths I might miss or is it just hunt for them? I know the ones on the back of the head on the o/s bank.
