why I love my wife....

4 months ago I sold my lovely Tuscan - baby due in September - me being all sensible decided to go for a 4 seater (Cerb!) instead. Lots of crappy life stuff happened and anyway to cut a long story short I ended up with an M3....nice enough but a bit dull really and I missed my Tuscan.

then 3 weeks ago my wife suggests I should get myself another TVR - she utters the phrase "I thought you were mad selling the TVR - It would have been lovely to have a dad n junior car rather than a boring BMW"


so the M3 is gone....and I'm looking for a T350

so I mange to get myself a TVR, be a great hubby and future dad - all in one fell swoop!

Your wife, like mine, is sane!

We bought our Chim in 2003 because my wife was pregnant. We already had a Peugeot 406 V6 estate; a cheap, fast, truck and it was obvious that it would be the family wagon that my wife would drive. I therefore would need a new car to be my daily drive.

My wife was keen that I have a fun car in which to take her away on weekends and evenings out. Practicality was important which ruled out things like an Elise and Griff. Boxsters, although very good cars, were deemed to hairdressy and so we settled on a Chim.

Seven years on we're happy!

Wow you were the previous owner to Paul...told him I want first refusal on that car love the colour combo...

Coincidently my little lad George was born on 3oth Jan 2003....we were looking at upgrading the Mundano to an audi...at around £10K cost ...my lovely wife said "why don't you get yourself a TVR you've always wanted one, there nothing wrong with the mundano..." a month later I am driving my Chimaera back from bournemouth...happy days...

Just need to get a mango tuscan past her...

Craig, I can see that this could possibily come back to bite you in the backside. Many years ago I tried to do such a sacrifice for my other half and she told me not to as I deserved my toys. Forward to today and the other half has her V8 TVR and our oldest daughter has a supercharged TVR and I have a V8 TVR as a toy. So in the last couple of years I have lost control of 2 of my toys. Almost everytime my other half says she is going to the store to get milk or bread as we are running short I know I am going to find out what new cars are now at our local Jag. and AM main dealers. I pray that she is having an affair with a salesman because if she isn't............It is going to get expensive around here.

After getting your nice two seater TVR your whole family will of course become attached to it (make sure you give it a name, it helps with the family bonding!). You then suggest it would be nice to get a Cerbera as well so you can all still go out together. It worked for me...sometimes I still can't believe I got away with it Mrs YKB even asked if I might consider a third one sometime!!

[b] When I bought my first Taimar the Spousal Unit wanted new hardwood floors and granite countertops including granite on the new student desks in our 2 girls bedrooms. That got bigger as she thought full height bureaus on each side of the desktop would look nice.

When I bought the second Taimar I remembered the extra costs while buying the first Taimar and I waited until after the money cleared before I told her what I had bought her as a present for no special reason. Years later I still hear about the purchase of the second Taimar everytime I do something wrong but I have 3 TVRs in my household. [/b]

Jan '99 a nice tvr dealer took my offer to trade in my 3000m, against a nice Silver '96 Chimaera. That was Wednesday, Saturday arrives and the news was we going to have a baby.
Spend 21k on a car baby on the way, I was ready to pull out of the deal, but no my lovely wife said go for it.
2000 came and I spent 2 weeks driving round Europe over the alps Italy and back. Wife at home with daughter,
Spent 14k over 11years services tyres upgrading new engine as you do.
My wife is one in a million, my daughter had me put the chimaera in my will, to be left to her, she is only 10 and wants the Tvr. She has driven it twice now as well!!
I love them both, they were asked in fire what would you save both said the Chimaera, then daddy!
That's my life greatest wife & daughter, + a Tvr.
Can it get any better.

My girlfriend is extremely lenient of the money I plough into the Alfa. At the tender age of 20, the world of a TVR seems lightyears away, but I'm dropping hints at an early stage so as to let her down lightly when I tell her I'm buying a Cerbera in a few years time so far she seems fine!

I too have an amazing wife! I had a health scare 6 years ago and had been hankering after a T350 for a while. "Buy one now" she says "you never know what's round the corner" Luckily the health scare past and what was round the corner was a 350 SE that was too good to miss. "Go on" she says "you get so much pleasure from them" Next came a half share in an old Tasmin race car as by now my others were too good to track or sprint. Finally a neighbour of my sister was selling a 1 owner SEAC Well you have to don't you? Still no complaints!

IT IS ME THAT FELT GUILTY!...So I have sold the first wedge to my son in law, to keep it in the family and the T350 is for sale. The two wedges are "keepers". I am truly a lucky man!
