Really bad car

Hi, new to this forum so please go easy on me! Bought a TVR a couple of years ago and when I say unreliable this one takes the biscuit! Owned it for a year and it spent 9 months in the garage I bought it from being fixed. It took them eight months to fix the first problem and then had the cheek to ask me to pay a bill for thousands of pounds after just three months of driving it before it died?

It is up for sale again and the description given by the garage strongly suggests that it has never had any issues. I read the forum rules and do not wish to slag off the company in a name and shame but i do not want another human being to go through the same thing that i did. It got to the point that i had to install CCTV at my home to prove to the garage that the car was not being sabotaged!!!?!

The car may well have been fixed now but if it isn't then the new owner may wish to see what problems I faced so that he has some ammunition against the slippery car dealer that refused any responsibility for the lemon they sold me. If the moderators can let me know if i can put the reg. plate of the car on here then i'm sure any new owner will google it if they have the same issues i did and hopefully i will be able to help them.

Assuming that the garage have done the honourable thing and resolved the issues then i don't see why anyone would have a problem with me putting the reg. number on this forum?

Just stick up the reg and model,say it was crap and don't mention the garage

All good ways of getting yourself banned suggested above. The best way is to offer to advise anyone of the dealer name and car reg via a PM to anyone who contacts him.

N&S rules are there for a reason to protect businesses from unhappy punters with a grievence whether true or not, I'm not suggesting this is the case here but why assume that the dealer, whoever they may be, is 100% the villan of the piece especially from someone who's only ever posted once with no profile details?

Certainly not for the first bit but I was assuming that the car was being advertised on here in the classifieds so posting the Reg number is as good as naming the dealer.

Your opinion (and mine) is irrelevant, if the mods see it as an N&S, which if the reg can be cross referenced to an advert here it will effectively be, then I suggest it will be removed.

I'm going to have some faith that the garage has done the right thing and sorted it before re-selling. Therefore I WILL post the reg. number after the car has been sold. That way I cannot be accused of influencing the sale!

As for a ban - it would be a small price to pay for the massive humanitarian service I would be providing to the next poor s*d that has the mis fortune to buy that wretched thing!

Please p.m. me if you are about to buy a w reg 4.5 ltr - especially if it is in the south!!

I think that's a stretch too far, most or many of us have pics of our motors, either in our profile or on at least 1 thread somewhere on PH (Reader's cars for example). Just because they've had issues and someone might be selling their old car doesn't remove their right to still have pics of it posted.

Curious, but what sort of issues? 8 months seems a long long time to track a fault IMO. And as Tiv's aren't complex, I'd guess it was more the garage than the car.

Maybe have another go at describing what has happened. You don't say what the problem was or what was fixed, and what you paid money for. Kind of need those details to back up the statements you are making and will help with constructive feedback. And I really don't get the CCTV bit. Did you end up paying for anything at all, why are they selling it again? All very confusing.

Yep I don't get the CCTV bit; absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. Just because vandalism wasn't seen on CCTV doesn't prove that vandalism didn't happen before the CCTV was installed or at times that the car wasn't there.
