Cheers
I would ahve considered Dan before Sussex TVR cropped up but it's the 20 minute drive to Horam that suits me.
I've always been to Fernhursts as that's where I got the car from 6 years ago but it's getting a bit inconvenient trekking down there.
Such times as DM's helped me out when needing urgent assistance, stepper motor broken (idiot DIY) and an ailing clutch master cylinder (after Rockingham), they were very good even if the attempt to buy a car from them was a waste of time.
Just very pricey on the servicing.
I seem to spend half my life running round to distant dealers for my cars and bikes rather than keeping things more local and it's how to sort out leaving the car there, getting it back etc that's a pain.

The jury is still out at the moment
Yes, ex-DM technician who appears, by the the people who told me they have recieved mail shots, to have DM clients list which is a Data Protection Act
I know of one person who had a pre-purchase inspection done but no one yet who has had a service or repair work done there. Over the last week I have seen a couple of Tivs parked outside the workshop.
I know Sussex
were very interested when he first popped up, for obvious reasons, so as he is still there I guess everythng checked out ok.
Are you volunteering to be a Guinea pig then

I have recently had some work done buy them and they are first class. The guy who owns it is John Thomson. He used to be the work shop manager at DM. John has looked after my cerb for 7yrs and has always treated me well and in a proffesional maner. I did phone him for a chat before i took the car to him as i wanted to make sure he had no connection what so ever with that scumbag Tony. He has set up and financed the business himself with a little help from his father. I have in fact used John twice now and can highly recomend him. I hope he gets plenty of support and makes a go opf the buissiness as people with his in depth knowledge of TVR's are becoming a rare breed. Hope this helps.
Popped in to see John this morning - he is who I thought he was.
Looked after me well and it looks a nice set up.
What with that and Wessons bike cafe with off road bike workshop the residents of Horam must be a bit cheesed off!
Diagnosed oil pressure switch rather than gauge as my display problem.
Also provisionally diagnosed my hum as a wheel bearing rather than the diff I feared it was.
So far so good and very handy for me - just no loan car yet.

John's a nice guy and easy to get on with so...so far so good for what he's done for me but we have agreed to wait on one bit of noise as we can't work out where it's coming from (diff or wheel bearings). At least that shows he's not trying to create work so that gets brownie points from me.

Only had my T350 for a few weeks now but after reading this thread I thought I'd check it out and took it in for an inspection as there were a couple of minor things I wanted checking. Fortunately for John my clutch was going by the day I dropped the car in but apart from that everything checked out sweet so made me happy
Just picked the car up this morning after having a new uprated AP clutch and RaceProved slave cyclinder fitted. Price was good and he even resealed my spark plug cover for gratis. Its a small but tidy setup he has and he takes time to talk you through everything with no BS.
I hope it goes well for John as its very convenient having a specialist so nearby, its more convenient than trying to get to an Alfa Romeo dealer for servicing/warranty for my partners car!

No knowledge of them.
Would strongly recommend Dan Taylor at Taylor TVR near Maidstone.
Realise you are East Sussex way but it would be well worth the trip. Most of the TVRCC members in our region use him......no bad feedback at all, unlike the old DM set up!

I think more are happy than not, but not everyone will agree with your above statement. Maybe you should get to some more meetings
.John at SussexTVR has always been fantastic for me. He used to look after my Chimaera servicing and is now looking after my Tuscan.
Service prices are very reasonable TVR Service Sussex
Highly recommended!

Been to see John at Sussex TVR twice now with my new cerb as he came highly recommended, and he is only about 20 minutes away.
John is very knowledgable, professional and has done a great job sorting a few bits out for me at reasonable cost. John is also a very nice bloke!!
