Has anybody done this and got any numbers they could share? It would be quite interesting to see how well these heads flow compared to other options.

I've got a set, that are not on the car, but not sure if you can flow test them DIY.

Alan,

Received mail from Dan Jones in the US today.

He asks;

Ask Alan what pressure drop was that 130cfm at? I'd guess it was 10". My ported Buick 300 heads flowed right at 200 CFM on the intake side and 150 on the exhaust at a 28" pressure drop. Converted to a 10" drop,
the 200 CFM would be approximately 120 CFM. See if you can get a
copy of the flow bench sheets. If the heads are not bolted up to an engine, I'd be interested in the port cross-sectional areas and the minimum diameter under the valve seats.

The Wildcat ports are supposedly based upon Buick Stage II V6.
Alan's heads converted to 28" are 218 CFM. The best Rover's I've seen were 180 CFM and my ported Buick 300's are 200 CFM.

Phil,

I can't ask Ian at the moment as he has just gone into Hospital for major
heart surgery but I pulled this from his web site :

Stage 1 Street (Mine)
Head outflows race prepared Rover head by aprox 30c f.m. @ .450"/.500" valve lift
130 cubic feet per minute of gas. The best Rover manages about 105.
Intake valve 1.85" 9 Stainless steel) exhaust valve 1.55" (Stainless steel)
Intake port size 1.050" x 2.000"
Exhaust port size 1.200" x 1.400"

Stage 2 Race
Outflows race prepared Rover head by approx 55c.f.m. @ 10" (0550/0580 valve lift)
The stage 2 Wildcat has flowed over 150cfm
Intake valve 1.950" (Stainless Steel) exhaust 1.600" (Stainless Steel)
Intake port sizes 1.25" x 2.100"
exhaust port sizes 1.25" x 1.5"

No mention of the inches of water/mercury .. and I'm pretty sure like most tuners
in the UK that he does not have a flow bench. He has someone else do the final porting anyway.
