Eletrical gremlins fuel pump

Car still having the fuel pump only intermitantly getting power to it, I've changed the relay, still does it, changed the fusebox and it still does it, a garage tested the fuel pump the other day and it was ok, the car cranks so not the imobiliser, has anyone got any ideas as I'm at my wits end with the fking thing.

Also where can I find a wiring diagram for a mk1 Tuscan?.

Do I take it to a mechanic or an auto electrician I really don't know at this point.

Bet you a tenner it's the ecu. Had this on my first Chimaera, turned out to be a dry joint. Intermittent because it was ok when everything was cool but failed as it warmed up.

Have you tried a new fuelpump? Mine failed for a few hundred Km intermitendly. A new pump cured it.

Hi Flintstone, I'm in Cobham in Surrey, I was going to get it recovered to a garage but it might be wise to try the ECU first and thanks for your offer I'm very grateful

Have you had a look at the inertia switch in the boot?

This could be giving you the intermittent bad connection.

The switch definatly hasn't engaged, do you mean the wiring going to it could be loose? or it could be a faulty switch?.

Could be - try bypassing the switch and see if the problem disappears.

Not necessarily. There are various distinct circuits within the immobiliser and it's highly possible that one of the internal relays is failing.

My chimaera has just started to suffer from this, i changed the relay yesterday and fuel pump primed then started, i have just tried to start it to put back in garage and no dice.

Good luck with it, it's been one of the most frustrating things I've had happen on a car!!!!
