Pants oil everywhere

But not where you think.
The small canister of top up engine oil I keep in the boot of my car has unbeknown to me split and gone everywhere.
I have removed the carpet and managed to clean up the floor of the car, but the carpet is saturated.
Has anyone got any tips on the best way to remove oil from carpet? (I was thinking of putting it in the washing machine!) Or am I looking at a new floor carpet.

I would try pegging it on the washing line and power washing it.I have put oily stuff in the washing machine before and got an ear bashing for weeks about the washing smelling of oil.

I will give it a go with my power hose tomorrow.

Biological washing powder will get most stuff out - try scrubbing nit in, leaving for a couple of hours and then power washing it off.

5 litre tin of brake cleaner from unipart and wash it in that
