Hmm, don't know the stats for the 1.8 (the asthmatic one) but certainly the 2.5 one is pretty quick.

Personally, I wouldn't get hung up about it. There's plenty of bland soleless euro-shitboxes kicking around that will probably eat a Chim for lunch. But at the end of the day, they're just bland mass-produced tripe bought by people with no imagination.

Anyhoo, take him out in the Chim and frighten him shitless!!. Mind you if he did the same in the TT you'd be sea sick.

Think its because they have never actually got close enough to see.I take it a TT is one of those irritating little silver dots you get on the rear view mirror.

I quite like them as long as you remember they are rebadged Skoda's and not 'proper' sports cars
And there is one opposite the office with a number plate that I can't help but read as W4NKA although it's actually a bit different

If you hear the engine, remark how it sounds like a sewing machine or a washing machine (or maybe a knitting machine) ? Or should that be a hair-dryer ?!?

Amazing design idea - mounting the engine in front of the front wheels. Tech-bock-wurst-von-bollox as the saying goes. But then make it four wheel drive to compensate for it being a fundamentally bad design (VW Golf). This then makes it nice and overweight which gives naff acceleration.

Something I have always had a problem with the looks is working out which end is supposed to be the front....

IMHO...

Its taken over the JELLY MOULD badge that the Ford Sierra had in the 80's / 90's..

Isn't it modelled on the Skoda Labia because every xxxxx got one....

And some Audi A4, A6, the Seat Ibiza & Leon, and some Skoda Octavias.....

Believe that the Skodas and Seats handle better than the TT, and they just stick to front wheel drive.

Ha ha, that's hilarious! Being the owner of a Chimaera 400 and having a best friend who drives an 225bhp TT I can say for certain this is b0ll0cks. The guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

Oh, and I've spanked a few TTs not driven by people I know too - if he knew anything about cars he would just look at the torque-to-weight and power-to-weight ratios and know he's talking shte. He's either winding you up and you've fallen for it big-time or he's an ignorant moron.

Of course, in the wet, it might be a bit closer up to about 60mph...
