The factory visit is a very small part of Back Home it is mainly a social event. Last year the tour was conducted by Raph Dodds ( ex editor of TVRCC's Sprint). This was a disapointment its usual the girls from TVR's sales/marketing that gives the tour and they are much better looking.

Pittbull Is it safe to assume you are from SE and probably dive a Cerbera or a Tuscan (W, X or Y reg obviously )
Why do you need to know the full SP. You have bought a 150mph sportscar and seem reluctant to drive 200 miles in it without some reassurance you will not be bitten by a whippet or have your car crapped on by a racing pidgeon. The north west is not a foreign land. Why not break the mould and drive up and find out for yourself what the SP is. You may even realise the world does not stop at London. and if you are so insecure you can always drive back. That is what you bought the car for isn't it

EEEEE LLLADD I do not feel that the majority of people I know would consider me as insecure , ugly but confident in an intellectual sort of way.
Everytime I drive north and arrive,,,, its shut. If you arrive in a car that has been polished your considered gay and if it is worth more than 5 Groats you’re a rich suuoothrner.
I must be honest though as if I do intend to drive more than 200 clicks it is via the tunnel, and not towards deep Fried Mars Bars. Will do the factory Though,k,,, while shouting to the locals “ We are considerably richer than you”.
quote:ah, clearly a well balance individual, he seems to have a large chip on *both* shoulds. So please explain to me, where exactly was the 'insult to the North' jibe below? Yes exactly there wasn't one so for Christ sake stop harping on........ Mike (SE based like thats relevant to anyone else)

I was a little confused as to my possible jibe at the north, bcause I didnt. My simple question was in regard to the back home run, and thats all. Spread a little happiness not hate, what can I say.

So what's wrong with suuoothrners, I came from doown suuooth, just noorth of Watford (or does that class me as being from urp noorth)
I own a h reg S3c.
Survived 3 Back Homes. Nearly didn't one year when I meet a couple of Scotsman in the bar at about 3am. Could they drink? I wouldn't know I can't remember.

The drag/quarter mile was the most entertaining part of the 1998 back home event. I wish it could be organised again. Its the one thing that definately would make me consider another visit.
The sprint took place along the Blackpool Promonade on the way out of Blackpool towards Lytham. Bernie Hartnett the TVRCC Track Day Coordinator organised the event. It was an excellent day and the crowds were really good. I went the following year but it was a bit dull apart from drinking in the bar to some stupid time in the morning with the rest of the Scottish contingent and haven't been since. Personally i don't think i will go again to Back Home unless another sprint is organised, but have booked my place for the Isle of Man as we get are getting a bit of a track day, and the Hotel has been warned to stock up on Becks Beer for the rest of the Scots on tour.
