Rear screen feint scratches

I want to take out the little scratches on the rear screen of my Chim.

Any recommendations of what to use?

I'm told T-Cut but that seems a bit iffy to me.

Derek, I had a car trimmer clean a screen on one of mine. It wasn't perfect at all, but it improve a fair bit, sorry I can't remember the product name though

'T' cut is way too aggressive for paintwork so it'll ruin your screen, so no don't use it.
I'm a fan of Hindsight, quite a long process but worth it in my opinion. I maintain my screen with 303 aerospace protectant, it keeps it supple and removes fine scratches.

Quite a few peiople recommend Renovo screen cleaner but I have no experience of it.

I was told about that some time ago - Rockingham - but I forgot the name.

The chap had a lovely clear screen and I asked him if it was new. The hood was nice and clean but obviously not brand new and the stitching around the screen was old as well. The screen looked tremendous although the chap said there was still some light scattering at night. He recommended it though did say that it took a lot of time.

BMW sell a plastic window polish for the Z3 which is supposed to be very good.

I've used the Renovo stuff. It's more a cleaner than a scratch remover, but it seems to work quite well.

Can't actually remember where I read it but Auto Glym Super Resin Polish works amazingly well.

Some might not agree as its very similar to T-Cut but I've had no problems. Polished the plastic over a year ago and it still looks like new.

For best results I did both inside and outside of the screen.

Hi all,

Another vote for autoglym super resin polish!
Used on a lightly scuffed griff rear window took out alot of marks, didn't seem to be as aggressive t-cut.

My rear screen was very grubby & had a few scratches on when I acquired the car a few years ago, As I had used it succesfully before I used T cut & it did a perfect job, I would highly recommend it! If you are not sure just try a small test area first.

Agree, Autoglym works a treat, and probably the cheapest option.

Hi Derek,

Bit late to the thread but I use some stuff called Clear Glo for motorcycle visors and helmets, I find it works well.

After reading this thread the other day I thought, sod it, the rear screen on the Tuscan is looking shabby, can't make it any worse.

Went at it with a terry towel and Autoglym SRP inside and out.

Can honestly report I have now only on two occassions thought that I've forgotten to put it in and left it at home !!! Does a cracking job.
