Ive been reading for a while here now and figured that this was the perfect time to join, as i just picked up my first TVR yesterday 
its a 1982 280i tasmin 2+2, so Ive a couple of questions and a quick hello,
firstly what car were the seats originally sourced from?
are there any particular things i should be cautious of?
anything i should look to replace, fuel lines etc?
im in lincolnshire what sort of events are nearby that i could look at other peoples tvrs?

I can't answer ant techie questions I'm afraid (if I tried, I wouldn't recommend you follow my advice!).
Fuel lines are a common thing people chose to replace and there are good alternatives out there. With most TVRs it's a question of keeping an eye on the chassis.
You are in the East Mids region for TVRCC, we meet the 2nd Sunday of the month (so, today) at lunchtime in a village called Langar which is just in Leics, but near the Notts border.
It may be a distance for you, but look out on the Midlands forum here for 'Ashby Folville' next meet is 13 April. In the summer you can get 2-3k people there but it is a tiny village (e.g. no shop) with a huge varity of cars and bikes.

You are not too far from Chesterfield (maybe 90 mins?) so make sure that you keep the weekend of the 24th & 25th April free to visit - should be one or two TVRs in attendance that weekend
