IIRC Plasticman has done two, or was it one AJP V8 and two LS?

Kevan Gore has an AJP8 in his Tuscan race car. That's Tuscan as in T car Tuscan, not race Tuscan.

I don't know why you're laughing Walden - someone did a far more comprehensive job than that on your race Tuscan in 2004 ;-)

It's evidently possible though not sure why you'd bother? A 4.3 Speed 6 conversion is more powerful "out of the box", even before you consider the soon to be released 4.5 ltr version eek

<LOL> yes i remember you didnt manage to get as far round the circuit as Kev does.. Still at least the old girl did have a lovely new rear when i got hold of her... Its just the front that I've tried to demolish.. Cracking little motor but I suspect a like most Challenge cars a bit of a triggers broom !!

I can see the pull, my out the box V8 AJP is about 411 bhp, what is the 4.3 S6 out the box?
I could get mine to 440 which I guess would be a fairer compare to the Power S6 which I believe has an optimisied map?

Str8 Six has a supercharged S6 in a Sagaris that apparently put out over 500bhp. It should be at Chatsworth for all to see.

I remember a few years back there was a twin supercharged Cerb for sale on here. I think that it was dutch.

Wasnt it a single super charger? Think it was reputed to be more fragile than something very fragile.

I guess you may get more torque with the AJP V8 - not sure though. AJP V8 has proven reliability - not sure the new SP6 variants can claim that yet. The AJP V8 is lighter (approx 80 Kgs if my memory serves me correctly) than the SP6 so possibly some handling improvements to be had. The AJP V8 I think is likely to rev higher than one of the new SP6 options, which is something that I personally find appealing. Still keeps it pure TVR though not to original spec. Anyone have any thoughts on the cost of an AJP V8 conversion for a T car ?

When running the data loggers in the TVR Race series I did used to notice that between the 4.5AJP Cerb and the 4.0L Speed Six T350, there was little difference in outright bhp, but monitoring this around the circuit, the AJP had something approaching 100bhp more available out of the corners when low down in the rev range - the speed six needing to be revved hard to keep up. So there must be a much flatter torque curve in the V8 vs the straight 6. It's also a lot lighter. When I went to drop my AJP off at Str8Six the other day, it was easily liftable by a couple of people out of the van and into the workshop. So there must be a handling improvement, plus its a much more compact engine. That said, the speed six T350 used to sound fantastic!
