Just when you thought it couldnt go any faster round the corners without taking paint off the doors, Bridgestone have launched the SO3 Pole Position to replace the SO2. Just saw them at Geneva motor show and have to say they don't look as good as the SO2 but if they are better on the curvey stuff then count me in.

...and SO2s were not as good as the SO1. The TVR Sierra when I last saw it had SO1's. The SO1 was the better tyre.

Also their rating has gone from a 180AAA to a 180AA - in the UTGC grading. All that means is that the traction is one level lower than the S-02.

SO1's were big shiny pants when they got more than 30% worn. I put SO2s on the back and kept SO1 on the front with my cerbie 4.2 years back... BIG mistake. 5 laps of Brands indy and the front tyres were smoking and we had understeer all over the shop. Had to stop to let them cool down as they were melting. Have to say Pirelli P Zero assimetrico were good on the Lotus but then paying for them wasn't nice!
