Alternative fully mappable ECU?

Im looking into making the move into the wonderful world of mappable ignition and fuelling from an aftermarket ECU etc.
I realize the likes of Emerald and megasquirt have their fans but ive seen an alternative that looks interesting and wondering if anyone can point out any possible shortcomings or disadvantages.
I want a system that I can retune myself to some degree and more importantly to automatically switch maps to suit when my nitrous oxide system is activated.

they're even closer to me, was just thinking about a little drive this afternoon 
They are based just a few miles from my Sisters in Radstock so i was going to combine the visit when i get down.
Seems it may be ideal for my purpose although i would like more than 2 maps if its possible.
Heres a snippet from an email from them....
'Our V4 custom engine management system incorporates many advanced features as standard that may be of interest to you. These features include full nitrous control, launch control, dual maps (on fly) & OEM stepper motor control.
Dual fuel and ignition maps are easily configured from the software interface. Map switching can be triggered based on a number of inputs; this could easily be connected to change maps on activation of the NOS. The second spark timing map would be tuned to take maximum advantage of the faster burning characteristics of the nitrous.
This kit dispenses with the restrictive airflow meter taking load signals from MAP, TPS and an air temperature sensor.'
'Full rolling road (Dyno Dynamics) mapping for a Rover V8 with additional nitrous maps would cost £350.'
They have a Chimaera 400 they have developed and had great success with and they seem genuinely interested and enthusiastic about developing my car.
They offered a good discount on a fitting service but i realized i cut fit this system myself. Some parts such as the crank tigger wheel i can fit ahead as i rebuil my engine.

Just drive, it I think you've found it's limits without spending loads on a rebuild and that would spoil the character of it I think.

...and Mrs. DBV8 is fine with this? Looks a good find there - £1k for the "kit", £350 for mapping (Wonder if one map could be used to get the venerable old lump through an MOT without cats?) ... have emailed them to see if they do it as a fully fitted "drive-in drive-away" service...

They may give a TVR enthusiast a discount on their hourly rate but fitting yourself will save you a princley sum IMO.
Money better spent elsewhere.
ps no 'Mrs' to worry about at the moment. Part of the reason i have a stripped TVR in the garage... nice
