What are Nitrons like?

Better than standard I presume, but how do they compare to the likes of Ohlin, Eibach, Gaz etc etc?

Simple answer very difficult as most of us hve not had the oportunity to test drive them all.
I have had experience of knackered and reasonable factory fitment, Like most of us and experience of;

GAZ Nickels - huge improvement over factory fitment (although i have no experience of New factory fitment)
Nitron - No experience of the standard replacement Nitrons
Nitron NTR & Intrax - Both very very good and a huge jump in performance from GAZ, but also a huge leap in Price! so you have way up the cost £500-600 for GAZ etc. or £1750-2000 for these. Personally, If you want to push your car really hard (on track) but want sensible manners for road use, I found it worth the extra money. If you only want for road use, the GAZ Nickels were more than good enough I felt.
Ohlins - In same bracket as Intrax and NTR but too pricey for me.

Always confuse me these sort of comments ...huge improvement over factory fitment".... your car is 1995 model, so how old was your factory fitment before it was replaced ??? Nitron say you should have their dampers rebuilt every two years, so are we really comparing like with like ???

Like i said, I have no experience of NEW factory fitment.
However i have owned a number of tivs, and this last one had had the suspension rebuilt not long before i bought it.

I've got Nitrons fitted to my Tuscan. Totally transformed the handling. I no longer feel as though the car is trying to kill me during a "spirited" drive .

Don't have any experience of the other shocks you mention.

Price will probably be the limiting factor in the end. My Nitrons cost around £1300 fitted but I am delighted with the handling now.
