I saw that chimera a few years ago when i was on holiday in Dubai if my memory serves me correctly it was burgundy but i didn't see it clearly enough to see if it was LHD.
The tuscan for sale on here in Italy is well over priced in my opinion,thats interesting a tasmin was spotted in Qatar,how many years ago was that?
I reckon the heat here could be a major problem for them here also,another problem might be getting someone to fix it when it goes wrong as we all know it will at some stage!!

I own the burgundy Chimaera in Dubai , had it for about 4 years now . It's great for running around but in the height of summer you have to choose your times carefully . It doesn't like sitting in a traffic jam !!! I tend to take it for an early morning run on Fridays ( empty roads ) during the hotter months and use it a bit more for day to day stuff in the winter . As for getting someone to work on it , no problems . I use AAA at the moment but many other specialists around town . It's my second one in Dubai , I had a silver 4L for a couple of years , then moved on to this 5L . The air con suffers on mine but I know from an ex Tuscan owner out here that there are fixes available to give it an extra boost . I just suffer without it for now , another reason to avoid traffic jams . If anyone is in Dubai and interested , I might be leaving soon and will either take the car back to the UK (despite it being LHD ) or sell it here . It came from the TVR factory in KL ( yes they did have one ) straight to Dubai as a LHD car , no conversions . If anyone was at the Dubai Motor Show in 2000 , there was a TVR stand by the dealer at the time with 4 or 5 cars on it . My original silver car , my current burgundy one and a couple of others . Those were the days !!

I considered bringing my 2 into Libya then after a)seeing the driving and b) the ammount of sand, quickly decided against it.
The problem with the sand would be it would strip the paint off and, on the sagaris especially, with the open vent under the engine (cant remember what its called) I wouldn't risk sand getting up and into the engine causing all sorts of nice, expensive issues.
For me, its a no-brainer. Get something that has a fully covered chassis and something that you won't mind getting dinged.
