Car cover

Hi Chaps and chapets, just looking for a car cover anybody got one it need to be water proof and very soft inside ! Been to Halfords and thought the inside was going to mark the paint in bad whether, any thoughts and help ? cheers Burnie.

I bought the Stormforce cover for my newly acquired Chimaera from Cover Zone.

I've been very pleased with it so far (only a couple of weeks though) but it seems to do as it should.

You are right looking for one with a soft lining but the has to be clean before the cover is put on. I once used a cover on a Chimaera I had and the paint turned matt due to the wind blowing the cover around, I found it better not to have one after that.
There are usually quite a few companys that do car covers go to the NEC classic car show and have offers on if you buy there, just a thought if you are going to the NEC in November.

I'd second that. As long as your car is watertight, easy enough to achieve if it isn't already, there's no harm in leaving it uncovered. The one cover I would recommend is the Leven hood cover however it's heavy enough not to be blown about and it's secured by the boot and front tie straps.

I too have the Coverzone Stormforce. I always put some old cotton towels over the upper surfaces and draping over the wings to prevent chafing caused by the wind buffeting the cover.

I have a Stormforce as well. Works brilliantly but if its windy I find the cover scuffs the wax which make the car look crap. Quick buff with a cloth and it looks fine but I'm always worried what will happen to the paint if it gets though the wax. Think I'll try 2Munkys idea, sounds like that will fix the problem.

Also the stormforce cover doesn't cope well with SWMBO and the little old lady in the flat below trying to drive past. Currently have a 6" tear by the rear wheel arch, a 1' by 5" black scuff by the front wheel and a 1cm hole by the front wing

Car is fine though so the cover has done its job in that respect

Watch for how they are secured, one strap is no good as you get movement and chaffing. A soft interior is important. I bought a cheap superking cotton sheet which is OK.

I think I saw a post about the stormforce covers suggesting the monsoon is a good option.

Cheers guys bought a storm force !Hope it works ! as the inside of the car is a little damp from water some place !!
