Do you ever get totally peeved at the negative vibes on the speed 6 if so in future any TVR wannabe that needs educating you tell them.
Most speed six engines before 2002 have been modified
only a very small amount are in circulation and they are still banging away.
All speed 6 engines after 2002 were modified and therfore are as solid as a rock. No reports in the Tuscan, Cerbera, Tamora and T350 camps of engine failure at all.
Conclusion: The sp6 is (in my eyes) and will be (in time) a great engine and envied by others, its just a matter of time. So in future if some envious person comes on line and slags of the sp6 they have no basis at all, but lets not get confused between the askers of a sensible mechanical questions and retarded idiots who seem to want to bury a great engine. Only us the TVR owners can discriminate between the two.

Only kidding, I tend to agree with you but the fact remains that many went pear shaped in the early years which makes people very wary when handing over the cash. I was pretty nervous purchasing even a V8 based car.
Now I think things are very different with the later 3.6 lumps, t350, Tusc etc and I for one would be very happy to own one. As you say, and as long as reliability continues, time will prove this engines worth.

But this is my point exactly. A sensible mechanical question against a pathetic slag off. Its got to the point were if you have a sensible question with a sp6 your now shot down in flames. I feel sometimes paranoia has set in which would be a great shame. When you ask a sensible question on the TVR forum you should expect a decent reply from like minded people who want to help.

I don't quite get your point, we are in agreement that the sp6 ig a good engine aren't we?
We have had no problems with it, so it is indeed good news. Am I reading your reply wrong?

I think we have our wires crossed Mrs Fish. What i mean is if for example you purchased a BMW M3 or a P/GT4 it would not be good news if it had done 12k with no problems because it would be expected. 50k with no glitches fair enough. Thats now the same with the sp6 and how it should be treated.
