Exporting a TVR

Help please - I have listed my S3c and have had a very positive response from a French TVR fan. He is coming to see the car on Sunday and will likely drive it away if he likes it (and he will). My question is to satisfy my legal obligations do I simply fill in the 'permanent export' section of the V5 and send it of to DVLA and hand over the remainder to the purchaser? Clearly I should ensure that he has insurance and, I guess a driving licence before he departs but I am not really sure where my duty begins and ends in this situation. Any advise would be appreciated.

Just the export section of the V5C as you say. Whether or not he's got insurance and a driving licence is not, legally, your problem. Morally maybe, but not legally.

You just have to care for clear funds and the V5 export section, that´s all. The rest of the V5 goes with the new owner.

He should know about insurance, if getting a car from the UK. There are several ways for him to get that issue fixed. If you are a gent, and he ist not that well informed as he should be, you just drop him a line with that topic.
