URGENT HELP - Away at hotel and pass door wont close

Hi all,

Really need some help, we've come away to a health spa, wife went to close the passenger door and it just bangs on the latch and wont close. The drivers door will shut but sometimes is not opening on the button. The main problem is i cant shut the passenger to lock the car and it's stuck outside, no alarm and an open door.

I've had a look at the latch and it turns freely, are there anyways to get the door closed.

I'm no expert but here's something to try,
does the actual lock mechanism lock without the door (ie use a screwdriver to close the lock)
if it does, perhaps the door has slipped slightly and needs lifted slightly to engage?

Also, where are you, perhaps some friendly type lives nearby?

my t350t did that once , i got a screwdriver and levered the latch back upwards. It seemed to be locked without door in it . it clicked loudly and slotted back into place,
Hope this helps btw if cant sort it. Park car tight against wall and make sure interior light is off.

I've tried moving the lock until it latches then releasing it with the interior door knob, i've also tried man handling the door slightly, still no luck.

sorry i cant be of any help but you could park with the door against a wall,pole or something like that...

This happened to me after I had the chassis replaced, strangely it was only a problem when the car was warm.

If you look at the catch on the body of the car you will see that it is packed out with spacers. You will need an alum key for this but I loosened the catch (be careful not to loosen it too much as there is a nut on the end of the screw and if it falls inside you will have to pull the interior back to retrieve it) and added four pieces of metal evenly spaced - effectively adding another spacer.

Hi guys,

All fixed, i gave in and called a very nice man in a yellow van.

It turned out to be the plastic cover over the door latch, it had bent slightly and was stopping the latch from turning when the door catch touched it. The AA chap held the latch with a screwdriver while i operated the door knob.

Definately going to carry some tools in the boot now. I've cut the offending piece of plastic away, oiled the door latches and all seems well.
