(BTW i am assuming you mean no engine work as engine not been opened up?)

Mine got to 106,159 without any documented or signs of engine work when the head gaskets blew through various cooling system leaks that had been left unattended. Oil pressure was a bit marginal at this point, and we found two camshaft lobes to be fairly circular when opening the engine up. Still ran fine though.

I took the 4 litre out of my V8S with 117000 miles on it, all original never been out, incl original cam and clutch. Where's simon sparrow when you need him though

used to have a cousin with a ford v6 powered taimar,that covered over 190000 miles without probs before it was involved in a smash and written off.sold my s3 with original engine,no major work at all with 140000 miles on it..now me 1998 griff done 100000 with no work as yet.
