My dealer was hedging when I asked him about loss of 2nd hand value - he thinks there has been a dip but TVR's aren't suffering much in comparison with other brands.

The reason why 2nd hand values are low; is because people like James Crofts order them in stupid colours. Saw a picture on the net of his: pink/purple two tone colour!!!!!!!!! The home of the boy racers and the rallymen of Wales

Maybe the Travolta film Tuscan will boost demand for ALL TVR's and prices will suddenly shoot up again and,and............ah well it's a nice thought anyway.

L500GED was in fact my brother-in-law's car, not mine. My Griff was Ferrari Yellow and I traded it in for the Tuscan race car. I did however have use of the purple Griff, when my sister and her husband were abroad. My sister had an S3 which she swapped for an MGF and my brother-in-law swapped his Griff for an XK8R (also in purple). I don't know were L500GED is now.

I don`t know if anyone had seen but lately I was trying to sell my 450SE. Luckily I am now going to keep my `Beast` as I have found a sponsor to pay for my aviation fuel. If you think TVR`s can eat fuel try a large aircraft...then you can complain about fuel consumption!!! I am still very interested to know anyone`s views on seasonal varitation. Do you think you could possibly achieve £1000-£2000 more if you sell your car at "the right time" ?

I hope there's a season increase in prices, especially for the first time TVR buyers. No-one really wants to upgrade from their front wheel drive 1.8 Cavalier LSi in the Autumn / Winter to then spin horribly off the road in a rear wheel drive V6 / V8. I want to sell my S3c (it will probably be to someone who hasn't already owned a Tiv, because once you've owned a S series you want a V8!) so I would like to get a bit more for in the Spring / Summer and wait until the price drop Autumn time again and buy my Cerbie / Chim then. Jonathan (living in hope!).

Funny, I changed my Cavalier 2.0LS in January for a juicy 450 Chim. Took me 2 years to convince the missus that I didn't need 5 seats and she did.

I didn't buy it, but I couldn't find it. I guess it was crash damaged though? I went from my Cavalier to an S3c four years ago, finances dictated the S3c more than my worry for TOO MUCH POWER! Ginge
