TVR Carpets

I was reading an edition of classic and sports car at the weekend. A chap had fitted heat insulating carpets to an Austin Healey 3000, the main reason being to reduce the amount of head coming into the cockpit.

I have on a few occassions wilted from the heat off the V8 and this could be a good potential solution.

Has anybody tried this on their TVR?

Would their be any risk in doing e.g. overheating, or any damage to components in this area?

If okay, what product would people recommend to use to give the heat insulation?

loft insulation works well, but the carpets probably won't fit
