TVRCC Isle Of Man
Discussion
Anyone going on the 'Isle Of Man' experience thing that the TVRCC are organising? Has anyone been before and was it fun?
I'm considering joining in on the IOM trip and then taking the ferry to Dublin and going on a touring holiday around Southern Ireland. Has anyone done this in their TVR (mine's a Chim 4.5). Good roads? Things to do?
Any experiences/advice gratefully received.

I have booked to go to the Isle of Man do with the TVRCC. I will be staying at the Mount Murray Hotel with 3 other club members. We will be arriving on Thursday 26th July on the 14:15 ferry from Heysham.
I went to the I.O.M. back in 1998 with my TVR Taimar, there where no grounding problems on the ferry's. The roads on the island varied from very smooth in some places to very ripply and bumpy in other places but not very many pot holes. There is plenty to do and see on the island even if you want anything to do with cars! Museums (the museum at Peel where the TVRCC is holding there welcoming evening is excellent), railways, walks, TT circuit, beaches, plus stunning scenary (so long as the weathers dry). When I went in 1998 I went for a week to see the classic car races in September and to see some of the sites of the island. I didn't manage to see everything I wanted, so I promissed myself that one day I would go back to see the rest, so the TVRCC event provided me with the ideal oppertunaty.
I will be driving my latest aquasition a 4.0Lt Griffith this year and I'm realy looking forward to driving over the mountain section of the TT course with the top down.
See you there maybe.
