tvr insurance for younger people

just thought id give my 2pence worth when it comes to insurance, i know its a question that comes up alot and iv been searching for sensibly priced insurance for a chimera, which has been a challenge only being 21!

anyway just tried msm and with no no claims it came out at about 1200quid! which i thought was pretty good untill they said i can get a letter from my previous insurers stating that i havent had a claim whilest driving with them for 3 years it will come down to 739quid!!! opr if i had 4 years itd be 500 something! sorry but for a 21year old on a 4l chimmy thats just insane!

anyway now the search goes on, sell my car and start getting serious now insurance wont be a problem!!! woop!

That is utterly insane, to the point of probably being too a mistake. I am 31 and paying 480 with 9 years no claims. Hope it works out for you.

I would expect that to be fine for a chim, looks like a good quote! I was paying £1090 fully comp on a 400bhp Twin Turbo Supra at 21.

Just wait till you get to 25 Tuscan went from £1100 to £550!

They're obviously completely insane, if I were an insurance company, I'd certainly tell me to jog on!

When I was 21 I had a 928 GTS and I was paying more than your quote.

Still glad I did as I wrote the bugger off.

oh and definately no mistake! may be quite as fully loaded as the policys im use to (no breakdown cover or agreed valuation but for the price im not going to complain!
i want one now!

If you have it garaged, definately speak to Hagerty, my old man just saved a small wedge by going with them yesterday (from AF)

I've done all that, been right round the houses. Hagerty don't cover any kind of commuting, its SDP only. They reckon its not as strict as that, but policies are legal docs, and legal docs don't have friendlt leeway built in. I don't have a usable garage either. All part of the picture. Believe me I am tight enough to have shopped around.

That's fair enough. You're obviously not too tight as you use it for commuting !

I had the accident (non fault) with them and they were very helpful. Also havent loaded the premium when ive declared my mods. Not sure what they would be like come pay out time though?

Hagerty are no longer friendly for us young 'uns either. Only 30s from now on, unless you currently have a policy with them.
