Decisions decisions . . .

Ok, long story short, work fked up my pay last year and i have been backdated £800 (i'm guessing about £600 will be left after tax), and since i have'nt bought much for the car recently i thought i would give it a treat

But what do i get?? I have a huge list of things i want to do to it but i can't make up my mind so some advice is needed.

Option 1:
-Silicon hose kit
-New, more supportive seats
-Tart up engine bay

Option 2:
-Silicon hose kit
-New carpets

Option 3:
-Roll bar

Option 4:
-Brakes

Option 5:
New wheels

Option 6:
You descide!!




I need some inspiration and for other people to make decisions for me

I would do the brakes and mechanical bits first then start tarting it up!

lol i wish i had more for doing the bits i enjoy doing, but this months i am doing clutch/flywheel and insurance/tax is coming up soon

Umm

What condition are your coolant hoses? Cooling is very important so I would do the hoses. Brakes are useful but the standard ones are okay at the moment? Engine bay I view as general maintenance, you can check everything too.

Have you done any performance modifications like the ACT induction?

I have the ACT Induction kit fitted at the moment as well as GAZ Gold shocks. The top hose split a few months ago, hence wanting to change all of the coolent hoses out for preventative maintenance. And it would be nice to flush the whole system and check the rad etc. The argument i'm having with myself at the moment with regards to the brakes as they were changed just before i bought the car, and still have plenty of meat left on them.

While a brake upgrade is a legitimate performance mod, the standard brakes are ok (at least, you've not mentioned that they aren't).

If you've had any issues with the coolant hoses, I'd get them all changed before she dumps you at the road-side- they are all the same age. Put the rest toward your insurance premium.

Dont forget to change the petrol pipes.
Nothing shiny and enjoyable but a good feeling afterwards,
having some of the hidden and often cracked pipes removed.

May I also advise you in removing the oilpan.
Usually loads of silicon and seal stuff there risking a blocked
Oil pick up. - Some stuff is so big and would not go through whith the oil when changing. - Not expensive.
And when you are there, check for lose oil pickup screws as well.

I can also recomend the heat shields for the bushes.

Hoses Lewis, petrol pipes in engine bay and heater hoses as your first call if they are suspect.

You could go for grooved discs and differnt pads, perhaps Green Stuff and still have to do a carpet fit yourself from D&C.

I have just finished cleaning up your calipers ready for painting, so i can fit those, braided hoses, uprated discs, decent pads, and change fluid to Dot 5.1, then still have money left over to do the silicone hose, fuel hose and engine tart up route.

Then i put some money into something useful on my list, and something that looks good and pretty

Cam, breathing and Induction, everything else is just window dressing. Do that then you have a foundation to build on

Get a bottle heater and gauge and you wont look back

Im currently fitting a second kit to my car so should have over 200bhp on tap next weekend at York.
Aiming for 11.8 @ 122 but will be happy to run in the 11's.

Seats - will make you 'feel' quicker - I'm not wild about the Tuscan seats - find them too big and not supportive enough(comfy though).

Surprised more people have not changed them
