I know this sounds an odd question to ask but since the ownership of my Cerbera started I have developed a pain in my left foot. Very achy in the morning , seems to ease up as the day goes on and totaly vanishes after 6 pints .

I think it’s a muscle strain caused by the heavy clutch pedal , but was just wondering if anyone else experienced this or is my left foot just getting on a bit?

I have been to the doctors before in regards to muscle strains and they told me there was nothing I could do except for not completing the action that caused the strain.

Which in this case would mean not using Cerbera!

Do you suffer too? Have you found a cure? Please help coz it hurts!

Lend us your Cerbera for a twelve month scientific study and I'll see if your theory's right!

May be RSI I get it in my foot some times when I do a lot of driving. I am getting some ped extensions for Crimbo. Hopefully the change in position may help. It happens to me in the V8S and the golf, but in my right foot.

IU had to have some surgery on my foot this year - I think that it might have been cuased by driving a Griffiht for 5 years - it this the first case of "TVR-foot" ?.

Cheers,

Mike.

Sue the bastards! I've certainly noticed by ankle and foot getting knackered by the clutch when crawling around in stop start traffic. Proper old lactic acid burn. Guess if you're unlucky, it could be enough to cause a strain. Physio and some exercises, or maybe a shoe with a stiff sole, or maybe move your foot higher on the pedal?

(I mashed a couple of toes on my left foot yesterday, either sprains or breaks, turned purple and swollen and sore ... Operating the clutch hurt like hell driving home last night. Fortunately traffic was light.)

If you're using the front part (ball?) of your foot to depress the clutch, you'll be using all your ankle muscles as well as your leg muscles. Try placing your foot higher on the pedal so it's more of a direct force down the leg.

You won't get as much feel but for getting through heavy traffic it might help relieve the pressure.

Took the Cerb to the big smoke last week and my left ankle was knackered for the entire time I was down there...I even had to duck out of some shopping duty to sample the local brew...shame

It could be Hyperuricemia.
Uric acid crystallizes and settles in the joint spaces, most commonly in the first metatarsal phalangeal joint of the big toe or in the ankle joint. You should cut out alcohol and rich foods and lead a more contemplative life in a monastery.

I do some times get this, only in the morning and it
very much depends on the footwear I have on.

A baseball style boot aggravates it the most ( less
movement in the ankle ) but also, being 5ft 7 means
I have the seat right forward and don't have my
left leg quite at the angle I would prefer it to be.

Not bad enough to need the pedal extensions though.

I used to get an aching ankle/sore foot when in heavy traffic until I put on the Leven metal pedals. I think the Leven clutch pedal has a slightly larger surface than the TVR standard one which seems to have stopped any aching etc.

Either that or I've just got used to it!

Wearing the right make of shoes may solve the problem. For long distance driving I tend to wear some casual trainer type shoes made by Ecco. Not cheap but very comfortable. I got onto this make after my wife was recomended by her chiropractor.
