Silica Gel in large quantities?

Anyone know where I can buy large sachets of silica gel to dry our my car - Its not seeing much use at the mo so gets a ton of condensation when left for a couple of days or so...
How best to dry out a soggy Tiv when the weather is so bad and there are about 10 minutes of sunlight per day???

I made contact with a company a while ago, but never got round to it. I've got their email address at home.
I've mailed myself a reminder, so should be able to pass on the details this evening (or tomorrow, perhaps, monday's a busy night).
Can't recall the price, but I remember thinking it was quite reasonable.

I believe you can get moisture absorbing crystals from B&Q or similar, I seem to remember that they were sold in plastic pots, sorry to be so vague but I hope it helps, I haven't looked but yoy could try www.diy.com which is B&Q web site.

You lot are thinking of Waste Exchange Services at Stockton-on-Tees. This came up on Egroups about 4 years ago. WES may or may not be still trading; they were sharing premises with Adroit Chemmicals who do a mean line in cheap washing-up liquid, soap powder etc. but they've just moved onto the Wilton site so public access isn't allowed.
No numbers to hand, but I know Adroit are still going so may be worth a call re. the silica gel.

Yes salt works.
You can buy things for the caravan from caravan shops & places like Halfords.
Apparantly (from a recent thread on here) the clear/white crystal kitty-litter (make sure you get the correct one) from you local supermarket is pretty much the same stuff.
Talk to your IT department if you work in a largish company as they often get kit delivered that is packed with large bags of the stuff.
All of the above (okay I'm not sure about the caravan stuff) can be dried in the oven (low heat) and re-used. But don't eat the salt

If your car is in a closed garage then we would suggest changing the sachets every month or you could check the weight of the sachets, if the sachet has gained weight by about 100g then it will need to be changed as it has reached its capacity.If your car is being used then the sachets will not work.500g Silica Gel sachets are packed into boxes of 25. The cost would be £1.20 per sachet (£30.00 per box) plus £10.00 carriage charge for next day courier delivery.
If you do wish to order we can deal on a proforma basis, where we receive payment up before despatch, we do accept credit cards as well.
