wedding ribbon on convertible TVR

i've offered my tamora to my cousin to drive as the groom's car at his wedding.

has anyone done the ribbons on a convertible car? where can you anchor them on the inside?

i've seen suction cups for sale on fleabay which i might try and put into the top corners of the windscreen, and attach the ribbon there. not sure they'd be secure enough, seeing as how crap the suction cup mount is for my tom tom.

When I took my mate last year in my Chim I secured via the wing mirrors instead!
One word of warning though - the ribbon can & does rub the paint work! I ended up with loads of fine scratches and dull patches because of this, made worse because it rained.

When I took a bride to the church in my Tuscan, I managed to pull the top rubber seal away from the bodywork just enough to get the ribbon under at each corner. I have not had any leaks since.

I just bought very very fine ribbon which was soft, and made sure the car was spotless before tying it on -



Looped it round the numberplate and wing mirrors.

not bothered about paintwork, as it's pretty bad anyway and a front end respray awaits in the autumn/ winter. there's a bloody grat scratch through the armourfend and down to the undercoat, so a few swirls is the least of my worries!

and yes, of course he's getting married to dale winton.

ribbons = gay. do you wear an aftershave called 'grrrrrrrrrr' and speak in a comically deep voice to ensure nobody thinks you might be a wrong'un?

I looped the middle of the ribbon round the plate and attached in in a manly way by gaffa taping the ends to the inside top of the windscreen.

Incidentally I think it is customary to make sure your car is clean for a wedding.
